This is of course the news section, but I don't have news to share at this particular point.(lol) As it gets closer to my book release date I will have a lot more news to share.(hopefully) On this page, I will list book signings, appearances, book reviews, any write ups regarding me and Dirty Little Secrets. But currently I'm just a nobody author that's skipping along hoping that you all will enjoy my first novel with St. Martin's Press. Since I don't have any "New News" I thought I would share some past news. April 20, 2005: I get the phone call from my editor Monique Patterson (the best editor in the business by the way) saying I got my book deal with St. Martin's Press. What made that so incredible was April 20th is my birthday. Talk about a wonderful present!!! So, not only when I went out that night did I dance my butt off in the club celebrating my birthday but also the beginning of a new career as an author. Fast Forward to October of 2005: I did my final edits on Dirty Little Secrets and we're off and running. I'm getting closer to the final product. November 4, 2005: I see the sample version of my book cover for Dirty Little Secrets. Which I love because I think it's mysteriously sexy with a pinch of innocence to it. But more importantly, I hope ya like it.(ha ha) January 7, 2006: It's picture time. I have to get my pictures done for my book jacket and a PR shot. Honestly I hate taking pictures, because if you catch somebody in the wrong angle it's all downhill. When I finished and submitted them to my editor I just prayed she would find two that she liked so we could keep it moving. February 2006: The publicist handling my book reaches out to me letting me know that galleys are in and she'll be sending Dirty Little Secrets out hoping we can drum up some press. Little does she know I'm twiddling my thumbs hoping for the same exact thing. People the book game is no joke. March 15, 2006: I receive my box of galleys for Dirty Little Secrets. Now at first I was getting worried because it was taking so long for me to get the galleys. It seemed as if everyone had a copy but me. St. Martin's is always so on top of their game, so I was like, "Well damn, did they run out of books, but NO not with all those coins they got over there." But of course St. Martin's wasn't the blame it was a postal problem. You can NEVER trust the post office. FedEx baby, all day everyday. So that is the break down thus far in my journey of becoming a published author with St. Martin's Press. I wanted to share some moments in hopes that you could feel a part of my adventure. This is just the beginning. I'll keep you posted!!
